Electricity Tariffs

What Tariff To Choose?

Economy 7 ? - NO

Economy 7 is a restrictive supply. By this we mean that the power outlets connected to E7 are only provided with electric during the 7 off-peak hours. Therefore, E7 is designed for use with "old-fashioned" storage heaters and not responsive thermal electric radiators. Subsequently, we do not recommend E7 for use with Martin Stevens Electric Heating's Electric Thermal Radiators.

Standard Tariff ? - YES

Standard Tariff electricity is available from all providers and as an un-restricted supply is perfectly suitable for use with Martin Stevens Electric Heating products. With average unit costs of around 0.12 pence (please check with your provider for exact rates), Martin Stevens Electric Heating radiators will provide the user with the heat they need, when they need it and at a price that won't cost the earth.

Economy 10 ? - YES

Economy 10 from Scottish & Southern Energy provides an un-restricted supply (as well as a restricted option) and therefore, is perfectly suitable for use our Heating products. We only recommend E10 from Scottish & Southern as to our knowledge, they are the only provider who offer an un-restricted option.

With E10 from Scottish & Southern Energy, the user benefits from 3 off-peak periods each day: 4am - 7am, 1pm - 4pm and 8:30pm - 12:30pm. This means that all household electric consumption from the un-restricted E10 supply - lighting, power, cooking, hot water heating and Martin Stevens Electric Heating's Thermal Electric Radiators costs the consumer less when used in the off-peak times.

Therefore, we recommend that all high consumption domestic appliances are used in the off-peak periods, which helps to reduce fuel costs. With the afternoon and evening off-peak periods, virtually all consumers can benefit from cheaper electricity for their washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers.

The E10 option from Scottish & Southern Energy would, in our opinion provide the best overall price for your electric. If you would like more information on E10 from Scottish & Southern Energy, please contact our sales team and they will provide you with a full information sheet and contact numbers for Scottish & Southern Energy.

Note - there is usually work that needs to be done on your fuse panel in order to be moved to the E10 tariff. This is usually carrier out free of charge. If moving from E7 to E10 please remember to state you want the tails (wires which currently run from your E7 meter to the spurs into which the storage heaters are currently wired into) are put into the main supply this allows the new system to be wired into those same points.
